KSE-100 edges up 0.15% as PSX ready-market turnover slips
The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange closed 248.92 points higher on Tuesday, a gain of 0.15 per cent, at 171,402.08 points against 171,153.17 points in the previous session, exchange data showed.
Ready-market turnover declined to 641.834 million shares from 692.884 million shares a day earlier, while traded value fell to Rs18.466 billion from Rs20.100 billion. Market capitalisation rose to Rs19.093 trillion from Rs19.041 trillion. Of the 494 companies traded, 226 posted gains, 221 suffered losses and 47 were unchanged.
Tasdeeq Information led the volume chart with 133.189 million shares, followed by Media Times Ltd with 72.720 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 48.572 million shares.
Among the gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited rose Rs250.00 to close at Rs25,250.00, while Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited added Rs42.14 to settle at Rs1,405.47. On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited fell Rs276.95 to Rs15,673.05 and Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering declined Rs80.27 to Rs1,620.10.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 505.609 million shares with a traded value of Rs17.489 billion, against 368.488 million shares worth Rs15.354 billion in the previous session. Of the 319 companies traded there, 153 advanced, 156 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
