Rupee edges up one paisa against dollar in interbank trading

The Pakistani rupee appreciated by one paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Tuesday, closing at Rs 277.21 against the previous day's Rs 277. 22. The gain leaves the interbank rate little changed from the prior session.

In the open market, the Forex Association of Pakistan reported the dollar's buying and selling rates at Rs 278 and Rs 278.30 respectively.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the euro fell Rs 1.31 to close at Rs 317.03, from Rs 318.34 the previous day. The Japanese yen declined by one paisa to Rs 1.75, and the British pound dropped Rs 1.41 to Rs 369.70, against Rs 371.11 previously.

The Emirati dirham eased by one paisa to close at Rs 75.47, while the Saudi riyal rose by one paisa to Rs 73.81, the central bank's rates showed.
